Knotted belts are fun to make and wear and clearly I can’t get enough of them! For those who thought this knotted belt tutorial looked a bit too challenging, here’s a tutorial for a simpler one!
Here’s how:
Grab two cords – each should be the length of your waist plus 10 inches.
Take the first cord and lay it out as shown, with the upper half looped over the bottom.
Take the second cord and place it under the loop of the first cord.
Loop the second cord around and weave it over, and then under the first cord (follow the picture above!)
Bringing the second cord back, weave it over, under and then over. Basically you’ll be alternating the over and unders till you form a pretty shape :)
Pull tight while keeping the weaved formation in place and you should get this! I used this cord from previous projects, but a satin one should look much nicer if you’re looking for a sleeker finish.
You could sew the two rows of cords together or leave them open and seal them together at the ends. Now all you need to do is measure around your waist again and mark about two inches of overlap for your buttons.
Refer to this previous wide knotted belt tutorial for images and directions on how you can finish it off!
